"Remarks in re: 'The Men of Myrtle'": -- 1. I assume that dad is the guy on the far left, in the conservative blue business suit.2. Assuming No. 1, then the guy in the middle in the back row, wearing a striped shirt and solid tie, appears older than dad, on the far left. Is this, therefore, a bigamous family? Are the into polyandry? Is this a reverse, polygamy thing-y? 3. Myrtle Man on the far right, back row, solid jade-colour shirt and brown coat: He does not resemble the other men: Is he the moral behind the story we all heard about growing up, "The Post Man Always Rings Twice."?4. The Man from Myrtle, No. 4, next to Myrtle, front row: Something about that coat, the glasses, and the hair that just brings back the days of watching "Hee Haw."6. Gratuitous comment to Myrtle: Myrtle, God love you. Those curlers must have been in for hours, and the more I stare upon your tresses, Myrtle, I must confess: Myrtle, can I be your "son," too?
You know that the guy with the purple plaid jacket has to look back on this photo and just shake his head. Wonder if it's still in the back of his closet? We won't say anything about his mothers choice of hair color...
Who needs birth control pills when you have glasses like these?
Sure, Myrtle had secrets, but who doesn't?At sixty five she could no longer look at an icecream van driven by a tall dark bespectacled stranger the way she had when she was nineteen, twenty, twenty two and twenty eight. Her marriage to Ron had always been a happy one. There'd been a lot of memorable summers.
Good dispatch and this post helped me alot in my college assignement. Thank you for your information.
Say what you will, but I think that guy in the purple is legitimately sexy, not ironically sexy...
just to clarify:myrtle's husband is not in the photo. dude on the left is surely her oldest. as for her hair, myrtle has a wig on, incorrectly i might add. and yes, myrt's son in front, in purple, looks good.
Wow. Just Wow!And who would have thought the BCD glasses back then didn't work.
