I think it's a guinea pig with it's head turned sideways looking up. The dark spot facing the camera is it's ear. But... who in the world get's their picture taken with their guinea pig???
Ohhh, it IS a guinea pig. It's looking up at her - the two bigger, darker spots are its ears. Now it's a sweet picture...not weird when I thought it was a sloth.
Hi, I'm Colette. It's indeed a guinea pig (a "cochon d'Inde" in French). I was in second grade and we had guinea pigs in our class. So the teacher had the idea of taking a picture of each child with one of the guinea pigs. I have fond memories of this teacher who had turned our class into a little zoo with birds, fish and small rodents...

3 seconds after this picture was taken. Cochon was never seen again and Colette was walking away whistling and picking her teeth!
WHAT IS THAT???????
I give up. What kind of animal is it?
A really, really cute photo. Cochon...such a tender name!

"Cochon" is for "cochon d'Inde", that's how we call that big hamster species in French.
What happened to the Gilmore Girls, by the way ?
cochon is french for pig.
I'm pretty sure it's a guinea pig. It's head is kind of craning up adoringly at Colette.
Guinea pig?
It's a guinea pig, guys :)
I think it's a Furby. Cochon the Furby.
Have none of you people ever seen a Guinea Pig?
Colette was most certainly ahead of her time.
Is it a guinea pig, then?
Cochon is for cochon d'Inde, as we, french people, call these big hamsters.
A translator gave me "Guinea Pig" in English.
Sorry if I ruin the mistery.
I believe that is a guinea pig
I gues it`s a guinea pig. Don`t you guys think?
That animal looks like the creatures in the old Quizno's "We love the subs" commercials. Ewww....
this is going to be my senior picture, most definitely.
That is defiantly a baby sloth
guinnea pig
Cohchon > "Cochon d'Inde" = Guinea Pig
Is cochon screaming for help, is he yawning, is cochon singing a sad song? No one will ever know . . .
It's a guinea pig.
It's a guinea pig people...
A cochon is a pig... a guinea pig in this case!
People, it's a guinea pig for crying out loud!
And this is actually a pretty cute photo.
I think it's a guinea pig.
guinea pig, maybe?
I think it's a sloth. I don't know why anybody would want to own a sloth, but you know how nutty the French are.
I mean Belgians...
No way that's a pig.

I think this picture is rather sweet. Nothing wrong with holding a guinea pig for a photoshoot. :)

I don't think anyone said this yet, but it's a guinea pig.

I think this picture is sweet. And it has nothing to do with the fact that I grew up in Belgium. :)

Stop saying horrible things about Cochon!
