Say what you will to be funny, but the guy looks like a good dad to me, and being a single dad of 3 kids is not an easy task to be sure. Nice he found the time to get the photos done.
Hi, I'm "son #2" (cute blonde kid in the yellow shirt in the first picture, plaid shirt in the second, tan t-shirt in the third). To answer the big question of what happened to "the girl": Our sister, Carole, passed away in 1992. She was riding her bike and was hit by a car. It was a difficult time for our family and doubly rough on John, "son #1" in the pictures, as he had named her and had been very close to her. He committed suicide shortly after that last picture was taken (March 1997).

I knew something sad had happened after seeing the 3rd picture. I'm glad "Son #2" told us the situation here in the comments. Wow. I hope he and his father are doing okay now.
